Job summary

Wabash is seeking a Welder Trainer to develop the skills of both new hires and current welders. This role emphasizes hands-on instruction, technical coaching, and safety leadership to maintain Wabash's quality and productivity standards on carbon steel, stainless, and aluminum welding.

You will conduct training, evaluate welders, prepare qualification tests, and partner with supervisors to address skill gaps. Strong communication and leadership are essential for success on the production floor.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be Level 3+ qualified welder with strong knowledge of Wabash welding standards.
• Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, change orders and SOPs.
• Proficient in basic math and measurements.
• Strong communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on training sessions for welders on Wabash standards, techniques, and safety.
• Evaluate welders' skills through testing to ensure specifications.
• Prepare and document qualification tests for various product lines.
• Provide coaching to improve technique, quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with supervisors and quality to identify training needs and gaps.
• Maintain training records and ensure qualification requirements are met before production.
• Reinforce PPE and safe work practices on the floor and in training areas.
• Update training materials and weld procedures as standards evolve.
• Demonstrate professionalism and act as a role model for welders.
• May perform other duties to support operations.
