Job summary

Pridgeon and Clay Inc. in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a Welding Process Engineer to lead robotic welding programs across manual and automated systems.

You will develop and refine weld parameters, create and optimize processes, and drive continuous improvement in a team-focused environment. Responsibilities include managing projects, leading cross-functional teams, coordinating with engineering leadership, and ensuring APQP/PPAP, GD&T, and CMM data interpretation are applied to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with welding emphasis.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing engineering exposure.
• Experience in machine build PM and poka yoke development.
• Robotic welding programming experience (Fanuc/ABB/Panasonic/Motoman).
• Ability to set weld parameters and use SPC/QA tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead Welding/assembly teams and coordinate with engineering leadership.
• Develop and modify robotic welding programs and parameters.
• Manage projects: RFQ, planning, vendor engagement, approvals.
• Ensure GD&T compliance, CMM data interpretation, and PPAP/APQP adherence.
• Drive continuous improvement and lean initiatives on the shop floor.
• Provide training and mentorship to welding engineers and technicians.
