Job summary

The Welder role at ANDRITZ Separation Inc. supports service and repair work at the site, following Safety guidelines and supervisor instructions. You will weld in flat, vertical, or overhead positions, read drawings, and use SMAW, MIG, TIG processes to join carbon steel and stainless steel as required.

Maintenance and calibration experience, equipment inspection, and adherence to shop cleanliness and safety standards are essential. Travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Must use hand tools and have strong mechanical aptitude.
• Rigging and crane/forklift handling capability.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Maintenance troubleshooting for machine downtime.
• Welding carbon steel or stainless steel (MIG/TIG/SMAW).
• Experience with handheld vibration analysis is a plus.
• Electromechanical technology degree or trade school is a plus.
• PLC programming knowledge is a plus for certain roles.

Responsibilities

• Weld in flat, vertical, or overhead positions as required.
• Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs.
• Clamp, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt parts as needed.
• Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials.
• Monitor welding to avoid overheating, distortion, or warping.
• Examine work pieces and measure for conformance with specs.
• Read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Read 2D and 3D drawings and interpret them correctly.
