Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) in Tupelo, MS, is seeking a Weld Manufacturing Engineer to join our EMS Group. You will support the production process by designing, developing, and implementing welding and fabrication methods for parts and assemblies.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in engineering and 2+ years in manufacturing engineering, knowledge of GD&T, DFM, and welding procedures, and the ability to read blueprints and MIL standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Two or more years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of engineering concepts, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Understanding of GD&T and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
• Knowledge of weld inspection and welding procedures.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD clearance; willingness to work extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and maintains welding methods and production processes.
• Tests production stages to control variables and troubleshoot manufacturing problems.
• Designs the sequence of production operations, specifying tooling and equipment needs.
• Collaborates with design engineering on technical specifications to optimize equipment use.
• Estimates manufacturing costs and establishes time standards.
• Maintains records and communicates results to staff; ensures regulatory compliance.
