Job summary

Workshops for Warriors is seeking a Student Career Services Specialist to guide students through career development in welding and machining trades. This role focuses on counseling, job-search support, and professional development tailored to skilled trades.

You will partner with faculty, alumni, and industry to create internships, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities, while tracking placement data and delivering engaging workshops and events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in career counseling, education, HR or related field preferred.
• Experience in career services, counseling, or related area in technical or trade school setting desired.
• Familiarity with welding and machining trades is a plus.
• Strong networking and relationship-building skills to engage with employers and alumni.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with career services software and office productivity tools.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Provide career counseling to students and alumni to develop actionable plans.
• Assist with resume/cover letter writing, interviewing techniques, and networking strategies.
• Develop and maintain employer relationships to create internships, apprenticeships, and jobs.
• Design and deliver career development workshops and events for trades students.
• Track placement data and report outcomes to administration.
• Collaborate with faculty and departments to align training with industry needs.
