Job summary

Wabash invites high school juniors, seniors and college welding students to join our Student-to-Work Program as Student Welders. You will gain hands-on experience in MIG/TIG welding of carbon steel, stainless and aluminum, while learning from seasoned professionals in a fast-paced production setting.

Training includes in-house Weld School and testing to qualify for production work. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork, with opportunities to continue your education and potentially

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Must pass Weld Tests associated with product line, prior to welding in production.
• Must pass respirator fit test.
• Basic reading, writing, math & verbal skill.
• Capable of following and understanding engineering prints, specifications & instructions.

Responsibilities

• Own and help improve our performance in Safety, Quality, and Delivery.
• MIG and/or TIG weld at a level that meets quality standards for Carbon Steel/Aluminum/Stainless.
• Read engineering prints, weld symbols, and follow specifications.
• Perform basic operator preventative maintenance for welding related equipment.
• Work in tight and small spaces and at heights of 15-20 ft.
• Assist in different departments as needed by supervisor or team leader.
