Job summary

Austin Engineering in Mills, WY, is seeking a driven lead welder/fabricator to supervise and hands-on contribute to the fabrication of haul truck bodies. You will plan ahead, ensure safe, efficient production, and maintain high quality while coordinating with the supervisor on daily goals.

The role requires FCAW and GMAW experience, arc gouging, and print reading, with 3–5 years in production environments; current shifts run Day Shift, Monday–Thursday 6am–4:30pm and Friday 6am–2pm.

Qualifications

• Experience leading welders and/or fabricators in a production shop environment.
• Experience with FCAW, GMAW, air carbon arc gouging, and print reading.
• Three to five years of combined experience and/or a minimum of two years at Austin.

Responsibilities

• Plan ahead and stage parts for assembly to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate assignments with the Supervisor and maintain production in the Supervisor’s absence.
• Monitor output, support team projects, and resolve workflow, material, equipment, safety and personnel issues.
• Test equipment operations and setups; train employees in safe equipment use and interpret prints, directions, procedures, and policies.
• Assist with incident and near-miss reports, production reports, maintenance requests, material issue tickets, and daily timesheet updates in Visual.
• Follow and enforce company policies and safety guidelines, correct hazards, and keep the work area clean.
