Job summary

Daytona State College is seeking a Welding Lab Assistant to support instructors in welding labs, oversee student work, and ensure compliance with safety procedures and college rules. You will prepare labs, cut material, set up shop equipment, maintain tool inventory, and keep maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Must relate and work with faculty and students

• Strong organizational skills in multi-task environments
• Ability to supervise students in a lab environment; welding knowledge and skills
• Demonstrate tool functions and safety procedures

Responsibilities

• Assists Instructor in Welding labs to oversee students and safety
• Prepares/sets up lab for classes; cutting material and setting up shop equipment
• Maintains equipment maintenance records and checks lab equipment
• Follow assignments given by department Assistant Chair
• Other duties directed by the President or designee
