Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an engaged lab assistant to support welding instruction and safety in the Kentucky classroom. You will help instructors with exams, record-keeping, and inventory while mentoring students during lab sessions and tutoring.

The role emphasizes maintaining a clean, safe lab and assisting with routine equipment maintenance and supply procurement to ensure smooth class operations.

Qualifications

• Six (6) month to one (1) year of related work experience in a welding, maintenance, or manufacturing environment or equivalent experience.
• Completion of the Shielded Metal Arc Welding certificate, Gas Metal Arc Welding certificate, Gas Tungsten Welding certificate, or the Welding Technology diploma.

Responsibilities

• Assists faculty with classroom instruction, exams, record keeping, and safety adherence.
• Supervises and mentors students during lab sessions or tutoring as needed.
• Maintains a clean and safe lab environment and performs routine equipment maintenance.
• Manages inventory and requisition of supplies, and procures materials for classes.
