Drake State Community & Technical College in Huntsville, AL seeks a Welding Instructor to plan, prepare, present, and evaluate classroom instruction and related activities. The role covers face-to-face, hybrid, online, dual enrollment, and other formats to meet student needs.

The instructor will develop and continuously improve curriculum, foster an inclusive learning environment, assess student progress, and collaborate with partners to support workforce readiness and student success.

Formación

• Minimum of an Associate’s degree or at least sixty (60) semester hours toward an Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Specialized coursework equivalent to the community or technical college program.
• Three (3) years of full-time welding work experience.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver high-quality instruction in the assigned discipline through face-to-face, hybrid, online, dual enrollment, and other approved instructional modalities.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve curriculum, instructional strategies, and learning resources to support student achievement and workforce readiness.
• Create and maintain an engaging, inclusive, student-centered learning environment that promotes academic success, belonging, and professional growth.
• Communicate course expectations, learning outcomes, attendance requirements, grading procedures, and academic progress clearly and consistently.
• Assess student learning using a variety of instructional and assessment methods and utilize assessment results to improve teaching effectiveness and student outcomes.
• Prepare, administer, and evaluate assignments, projects, laboratory activities, examinations, and other learning assessments in a timely manner.
• Maintain regular availability and accessible communication with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders through established office hours and approved communication channels.
• Participate in program review, strategic planning, assessment activities, accreditation efforts, and institutional effectiveness processes.
• Collaborate with colleagues, academic departments, workforce partners, K-12 partners, and community stakeholders to support instructional excellence and institutional goals.
• Support student recruitment, onboarding, registration, orientation, retention, completion, transfer, and job-placement initiatives as needed.
