Job summary

Drake State Community and Technical College seeks a Welding Instructor to plan, deliver, and evaluate classroom and lab instruction in welding. The role covers multiple modalities including face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats on the Huntsville campus.

The ideal candidate has at least an Associate degree or 60 semester hours and welding work experience. Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills are required for ongoing curriculum development and student success.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate’s degree or at least sixty (60) semester hours leading to an Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Specialized coursework equivalent to the community or technical college program.
• Three (3) years of full-time welding work experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction in the assigned discipline through face-to-face, hybrid, online, dual enrollment, and other approved instructional modalities.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve curriculum, instructional strategies, and learning resources.
• Create and maintain an engaging, inclusive, student-centered learning environment.
• Communicate course expectations, outcomes, attendance, grading, and progress clearly.
• Assess student learning using varied methods and use results to improve teaching.
• Prepare, administer, and evaluate assignments, projects, labs, exams, and other assessments.
• Maintain accurate records related to instruction, attendance, grades, progress, and reporting.
