Job summary

West Georgia Technical College seeks a Welding Technical Instructor to deliver theory and hands‑on instruction in Welding & Joining Technology. The role covers day, evening, and online formats for traditional and dual‑enrolled students, onsite at Murphy Campus in Waco, GA.

The instructor must hold a Welding Diploma (or higher) and pass AWS welding tests; prior teaching experience is preferred. This full‑time position offers State of Georgia benefits.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Welding from an accredited institution.
• Three (3) years out of the past seven (7) years of experience in Welding.
• Pass an AWS plate welding test as a condition of employment.
• Pass an AWS pipe welding test for Carroll, LaGrange, and Murphy campuses in addition to the plate test.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Instruct welding theory and hands-on in class and lab.
• Deliver day, evening, and online programs for traditional and dual-enrolled students.
• Maintain program certification/accreditation requirements.
• Prepare lesson plans and maintain documentation.
• Engage in recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
