Job summary

Texas State Technical College is seeking an Instructor at Ft. Bend campus to deliver welding instruction, mentor students, and manage a high-quality applied learning environment. You will implement approved curricula, assess student progress, and integrate technology to enrich learning experiences.

Responsibilities include ensuring safety, maintaining records, and supporting retention and placement efforts. Evening/weekend availability and strong industry credentials are valued in this role.

Qualifications

• Verifiable industrial work experience in welding and fabrication.
• Proficient in GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SMAW; knowledge of plasma and oxy-acetylene cutting.
• Successful completion of a supervised Weld Test on site.
• Proficient at blueprint reading and pipefitting theory and its application.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality instruction and facilitate learning for students.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional plans; use diverse teaching methods.
• Maintain student records; ensure safety and secure equipment when needed.
• Advise students, support tutoring services, and promote retention.
• Participate in recruitment, tours, and department planning; teamwork-focused.
