Florence-Darlington Technical College seeks a qualified instructor to provide welding instruction, advise students, and help develop curricula. The role requires staying current with welding procedures (ASW/NCCER) and participating in college committees to promote institutional objectives.
Responsibilities include managing classrooms and labs, delivering assigned courses, assisting with recruitment and retention, supporting graduate placement, and aligning programs with industry needs.
Provide classroom instruction for students, academic advising, assist in graduate placement, attend graduation ceremonies, assist with student orientation/registration, revise curricula, develop new courses, design new programs, revise instruction materials, remain current in teaching field, work on college committees and promote institutional objectives.
A certificate in welding, one full year of work experience, and demonstrated competencies in welding. Candidate must be current in welding procedures (certified according to ASW or NCCER standards) and pass a test appropriate for the classes they will be teaching or a high school diploma or GED and two full years of work experience in a welding discipline, including welding and metal fabrication. Additionally, candidates must be current in welding procedures (certified according to ASW or NCCER standards) and pass a welding test appropriate for the classes they will be teaching.
Bachelor's degree in the teaching discipline, or associate's degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline.
Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 5:30 pm; Fridays, 8:00 am - 11:30 am
