Job summary

Arclabs Welding School in Texas is seeking a full-time Welding Instructor to deliver lecture, lab and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum, follow course outlines, and maintain a daily lesson plan.

You will monitor attendance, grade assignments, provide office hours, advise students, coordinate with the Lead Welding Instructor, and manage equipment and inventory to support accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass weld tests listed in the job requirements.
• Experience delivering lecture, laboratory, and clinical instruction, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and provide all lecture, laboratory and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum.
• Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms for the program.
• Maintain a lesson plan of daily instructional events.
• Monitor student attendance and retention and document as required by the administration.
• Grading assignments, returning graded assignments to students, and assigning final grades for all students in a timely manner.
• Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled times or by appointment.
• Advise students as it relates to school policies and satisfactory performance.
• Maintain communication with Lead Welding Instructor regarding such activity.
• Submit in writing current textbook, supply, and equipment needs to the Lead Welding Instructor.
• Maintain professional appearance at all times
• Communicate with administration on all issues related to students.
• Maintain professional expertise to meet accreditation standards by attending educational seminars.

Arclabs Welding School is growing and we are looking to hire a full time welding instructor.

Welding Instructor

• Prepare and provide all lecture, laboratory and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum
• Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms for the program
• Maintain a lesson plan of daily instructional events
• Monitor student attendance and retention and document as required by the administration Grading assignments, returning graded assignments to students, and assigning final grades for all students in a timely manner
• Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled times (i.e., office hours) or by appointment
• Advise students as it relates to school policies, satisfactory performance, etc.
• Maintain communication with Lead Welding Instructor regarding such activity
• Submit in writing current textbook, supply, and equipment needs to the Lead Welding Instructor
• Monitor & maintain all equipment and supply inventory in locked facilities
• Submit purchase orders to the purchasing department for all necessary items
• Secure consumable supplies as well as educational materials from administrative office when needed
• Maintain professional appearance at all times
• Communicate with administration on all issues related to students
• Maintain professional expertise (faculty development) to meet accreditation standards by attending educational seminars in professional field, reading current literature, attending online courses, etc.
• Ensure that students follow the catalog guidelines daily
• Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings set by the cooperate office
• Serve on committees (e.g., curriculum development, retention, etc.) as assigned based upon expertise or campus needs
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements:

Must be able to pass the following weld test

• 3G and 4G GMAW/FCAW combo Mig root uphill or downhill Flux core fill and cap on 3/8 carbon steel plate.
• 6G GTAW/SMAW combo on 4in sch80 carbon steel pipe.

Compensation is based on education and/or experience.
