Job summary

Arclabs Welding School is seeking a full-time welding instructor for our Houston Branch Campus. The role requires 3-5 years of welding experience and a commitment to hands-on education and student success.

The instructor will deliver lecture, lab and clinical instruction, maintain lesson plans, monitor attendance, grade assignments, and advise students. Computer knowledge and post-secondary education are a plus. Compensation is competitive and depends on education and experience.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years minimum welding experience.
• Post-secondary education a plus.
• Computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and provide all lecture, laboratory and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum.
• Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms for the program.
• Maintain a lesson plan of daily instructional events.
• Monitor student attendance and retention and document.
• Grading assignments, returning graded assignments to students and assigning final grades for all students in a timely manner.
• Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled times or by appointment.
• Advise students as it relates to school policies, satisfactory performance, etc.
• Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
• Communicate with the lead welding instructor on all issues related to students.
• Participate in faculty development to meet accreditation standards.
• Ensure that students follow the catalog guidelines daily.
• Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings.
• Serve on committees as assigned based upon campus needs.
• Perform other duties as required.

Arclabs Welding school is GROWING and we are seeking a full-time welding instructor who is flexible to work days and/or nights to join our dynamic team at our Houston Branch Campus.

• Prepare and provide all lecture, laboratory and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum
• Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms for the program
• Maintain a lesson plan of daily instructional events
• Monitor student attendance and retention and document
• Grading assignments, returning graded assignments to students and assigning final grades for all students in a timely manner
• Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled times (i.e., office hours) or by appointment
• Advise students as it relates to school policies, satisfactory performance, etc.
• Monitor & maintain all equipment and supply inventory in locked facilities
• Secure consumable supplies as well as educational materials
• Maintain a professional appearance at all times
• Communicate with the lead welding instructor on all issues related to students
• Maintain professional expertise (faculty development) to meet accreditation standards by attending educational seminars in the professional field, reading current literature, attending online courses, etc.
• Ensure that students follow the catalog guidelines daily
• Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings
• Serve on committees (e.g., curriculum development, retention, etc.) as assigned based upon expertise or campus needs
• Perform other duties as required
