Job summary

Arclabs Welding School in Fort Worth, TX seeks a full-time Welding Instructor to deliver lecture, lab, and clinical instruction per the curriculum. You will follow course outlines, maintain daily lesson plans, monitor attendance, grade work, and provide office hours.

You’ll guide students, advise on policies, and coordinate with the Lead Welding Instructor and administration on equipment, budget, and accreditation needs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass weld test: 3G and 4G GMAW/FCAW on 3/8 carbon steel; 6G GTAW/SMAW on 4in sch80 carbon steel pipe.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and provide all lecture, laboratory and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum.
• Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms for the program.
• Maintain a lesson plan of daily instructional events.
• Monitor student attendance and retention and document as required by the administration.
• Grade assignments, return graded work, and assign final grades in a timely manner.
• Provide educational assistance to students during office hours or by appointment.
• Advise students as it relates to school policies and performance.
• Maintain communication with Lead Welding Instructor regarding activity.
• Submit in writing current textbook, supply, and equipment needs to the Lead Welding Instructor.
• Monitor & maintain equipment and inventory in locked facilities.
• Submit purchase orders to the purchasing department for all necessary items.
• Secure consumable supplies and educational materials from administrative office when needed.
• Maintain professional appearance at all times.
• Communicate with administration on all issues related to students.
• Maintain professional expertise to meet accreditation standards by attending seminars and courses.
• Ensure students follow catalog guidelines daily.
• Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings set by the cooperative office.
• Serve on committees as assigned based upon campus needs.
• Perform other duties as required.

Welding Instructor

• Prepare and provide all lecture, laboratory and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum
• Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms for the program
• Maintain a lesson plan of daily instructional events
• Monitor student attendance and retention and document as required by the administration Grading assignments, returning graded assignments to students, and assigning final grades for all students in a timely manner
• Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled times (i.e., office hours) or by appointment
• Advise students as it relates to school policies, satisfactory performance, etc.
• Maintain communication with Lead Welding Instructor regarding such activity
• Submit in writing current textbook, supply, and equipment needs to the Lead Welding Instructor
• Monitor & maintain all equipment and supply inventory in locked facilities
• Submit purchase orders to the purchasing department for all necessary items
• Secure consumable supplies as well as educational materials from administrative office when needed
• Maintain professional appearance at all times
• Communicate with administration on all issues related to students
• Maintain professional expertise (faculty development) to meet accreditation standards by attending educational seminars in professional field, reading current literature, attending online courses, etc.
• Ensure that students follow the catalog guidelines daily
• Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings set by the cooperate office
• Serve on committees (e.g., curriculum development, retention, etc.) as assigned based upon expertise or campus needs
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements: Must be able to pass the following weld test

• 3G and 4G GMAW/FCAW combo Mig root uphill or downhill Flux core fill and cap on 3/8 carbon steel plate.
• 6G GTAW/SMAW combo on 4in sch80 carbon steel pipe.

Compensation is based on education and/or experience.
