Job summary

SQA Services seeks a detail‑oriented Welding Inspector to ensure quality and compliance of welded components. On-site five days a week, 4 hours daily (7am–12pm) for a 3–6 month contract, responsibilities include visual inspections, documentation review, and coordination with NDE personnel.

Responsibilities cover pre‑weld, in‑process, and final inspections, ensuring fit‑up, cleanliness, and conformance to drawings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training in welding inspection preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of structural welding inspection experience preferred.
• Experience inspecting structural steel fabrication and welded assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Perform VT visual inspection of structural welds per AWS D1.1 criteria.
• Evaluate weld workmanship and surface condition.
• Identify weld discontinuities (cracks, undercut, porosity, overlap, incomplete fusion, arc strikes, excessive reinforcement, crater defects).
• Verify weld profiles, weld size, and contour requirements.
• Inspect fillet, groove welds, CJP and PJP welds.
