Job summary

SQA Services is seeking a detail-oriented Welding Inspector to ensure the quality and compliance of welded components at customer sites. This on-site role involves inspections, documentation review, and coordination with NDE personnel as needed.

The position is a 3-6 month contract, on-site five days a week, 7am-12pm (4 hours daily). Required certifications include CWI and VT Level II; NDE certifications preferred. High school diploma and 3–5 years welding inspection experience required.

Qualifications

• Must hold Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• VT Level II certification is required or preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of structural welding inspection experience.
• Experience inspecting structural steel fabrication and welded assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection (VT) of structural welds in accordance with AWS D1.1 acceptance criteria.
• Evaluate weld workmanship and surface condition.
• Verify weld profiles, weld size, and contour requirements.
• Report welding findings and generate nonconformance documentation.
• Coordinate with NDE personnel when required.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Technical training in welding inspection

Minimum 3–5 years of structural welding inspection experience

Tools

CWI (Certified Welding Inspector)

VT Level II certification

NDE certifications (MT/PT preferred)

OSHA safety training
