Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Welding Inspector I to work under a Certified Welding Inspector on structural steel and pipe welding. You will verify fit-up, inspect welds, review WPS/PQR, and maintain inspection logs.

The role requires readiness to pursue CWI certification with company sponsorship available. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with AWS D1.1 and D1.5, validating welder qualifications, and coordinating with NDT technicians.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of AWS D1.1 and D1.5 welding codes.
• Ability to read structural drawings and WPS/PQR documents.
• Familiarity with weld maps and inspection logs.

Responsibilities

• Verify joint fit-up, preheat, and WPS compliance.
• Perform visual weld inspection under supervision to codes.
• Confirm welder qualifications and equipment calibration records.
• Maintain weld maps, inspection logs, and daily reports.
• Flag rejectable indications for CWI disposition.
• Coordinate with NDT for UT/MT/PT testing and record results.
