Construction Material Testing is seeking a Welding Inspector I to support structural steel and pipe welding in Texas. Work under a Certified Welding Inspector to verify fit-up, preheat, WPS compliance, and visual inspections.

Qualifications: AWS CAWI or 3+ years welding/welding-inspection experience with CWI exam eligibility; ability to read drawings and weld symbols; able to work at height and on active sites; valid driver’s license; willingness to travel. Company sponsors exam.

Responsibilities

• Verify fit-up, preheat, and WPS compliance before and during welding
• Perform visual inspection under supervision to AWS D1.1 or governing code
• Maintain weld maps and inspection logs
• Coordinate NDT with NDT technician and record results
• Flag rejectable indications for CWI disposition
