Qualifications

• Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments in various forms.
• Basic mathematics related to welding assignments.

Responsibilities

• Attend on-site safety meetings.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas.
• Assist welders to set up rigs and move between areas.
• Ensure welders have required materials and tools (rods, discs).
• Maintain stock levels of materials and supplies.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Follow welders' instructions to adjust machine temperatures.
• Use buffers and grinders to clean welds.
• Maintain knowledge of metal types.
• Operate various tools and equipment.
• Identify safety risks and comply with safety procedures.
• Read production schedules and blueprints to determine specs.
• Monitor welding to prevent distortion from overheating.
• Connect cutting torches to gas or power.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by welders.
• Clean workpieces with chemicals to remove slag, rust, grease.
• Willingness to travel to various work sites.
