Job summary

Crown Technical Systems is seeking a Shop Helper to support fabrication teams in Fontana, CA. You will assist with prepping, grinding, sanding, and cleaning sheet metal and steel materials, and help machine operators and welders complete fabrication tasks on the shop floor.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, 1+ years’ related experience, good attention to detail, basic math skills, and the ability to operate a forklift. PPE and safety protocols are required on site.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math and measurement skills to meet specs.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Cut material in preparation for fabrication or processing.
• Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter with hand tools or portable grinders.
• Assist machine operators with loading and unloading items from presses, lasers, or other equipment.
• Assist welders with structural welds by holding materials in place.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and comply with PPE requirements.
