Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking an entry-level helper for pipe welder activities in Savannah, GA. Under direct supervision, you will support skilled craftspersons with planning, layout, and assembly tasks to ensure precise welds and safe installations.

You will learn to operate industry tools such as air arc gouger and grinder, assist with field labor coordination, and uphold safety standards, production quality, and project requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, with related field experience.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Field experience in the chosen craft discipline.
• Knowledge of safe and efficient use of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Learn to plan, diagram and lay-out for pipe welder’s work.
• Assist with the coordination of field labor crew for efficient installations.
• Position the weld setup, fit the piping and perform welds involving a high degree of precision independently.
• Assist with the lay-out, and assemble pipes accurately and according to production standards, quality requirements, safety requirements, code, design, and specifications.
• Assist with welding repairs and substandard welds.
• Assist with coordination of any Pre-Fabrication layout or installation.
• Assist with rigging of material.
• Learn to operate air arc gouger, grinder, stress relieving machine, and other industry machines, tools and equipment.
