Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking an entry-level helper to assist skilled craftspeople in reading drawings, fabricating and installing piping, and preparing components for welding. The role involves reading plans, handling tools, and supporting assembly activities on site.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic tool knowledge, and a willingness to learn about rigging and hydro testing. Overtime and outdoor work are required as workload dictates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must possess knowledge, skills and abilities for position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Field experience in the chosen craft discipline.
• Knowledge of safe and efficient use of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Learn to read isometric drawings and take measurements, and fabricate and install piping efficiently.
• Assist skilled craftsmen to align, bolt, and clamp components for welding.
• Assist with assembling and securing pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment by welding and threading joints.
• Position and secure materials and workpieces per plans and specifications.
• Learn to distinguish varying thickness and types of metal materials.
• Learn to handle and apply rigging equipment safely.
• Operate beveling machines, cut-off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, and Saw-Zall.
• Layout and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports.
• Assist with hydro testing piping systems.
