Austin Industrial is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Welder Helper to support welding and maintenance activities at the Olin facility in McIntosh, Alabama. The Welder Helper assists welders with preparation, fabrication, installation, and repair of equipment, piping, and structural components while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist welders in setup and performance of welding, cutting, and fabrication activities.
Gather, transport, and organize tools, materials, and equipment.
Prepare work areas by cleaning surfaces, removing debris, and staging materials.
Grind, chip, clean, and prepare metal surfaces for welding operations.
Measure, mark, and position materials as directed by welders or supervisors.
Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, and other equipment safely and effectively.
Assist with rigging and material handling activities.
Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
Follow all safety policies, procedures, and work practices.
Participate in safety meetings and job hazard analyses.
