Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Welding Field Engineer for a major gas-fired power generation project in Pecos, Texas. The role supports installation of GE 7HA.02 systems and oversees field welding programs, NDE coordination, and quality control across subcontractors.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree and 2–5 years (or more) of relevant experience in heavy industrial construction, with welding certifications and strong knowledge of welding standards.

Qualifications

• NDE certifications such as VT, PT, MT are preferred.
• Advanced SMAW/GTAW/GMAW/FCAW welding knowledge.
• Heavy industrial construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work with Project Field Engineer and Lead Field Welding Engineer.
• Implement and maintain welding program for field operations.
• Provide welding engineering support to ensure code and client requirements are met.
• Assist in heat treatment program management (pre/post weld).
• Schedule NDE with construction and subcontractors to optimize timing and cost.
• Perform field inspections and advise on welding quality improvements.
