Job summary

Wells in Hillsboro, TX, is seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to assemble, fit, and weld components per blueprints. You will operate fabrication equipment and perform layout, inspection, and finishing to meet specifications.

Ideal candidates have 3 years welding/fabrication experience, ability to read drawings, and precise measuring skills; comfortable in a fast-paced production setting with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• Three years welding/fabrication experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to use measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, depth gauges, and fixed gauges.

Responsibilities

• Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form units or subassemblies using blueprints, jigs, and hand tools.
• Study engineering drawings and layouts to determine material requirements and sequence of work.
• Move, lift, and position materials using cranes, hoists, or manual handling methods.
• Lay out, mark, and verify workpieces using measuring tools such as squares, rulers, and tape measures.
• Tack-weld, cut, grind, and prepare metal components to meet specification requirements.
• Operate fabrication equipment including brakes, shears, rollers, drill presses, grinders, and cutting torches.
• Straighten, shape, and adjust metal parts using hammers, presses, torches, and other hand tools.
• Set up and use jigs, fixtures, face blocks, and templates for accurate assembly and fabrication.
• Remove defects such as high spots and bevel edges using grinding, filing, and cutting tools.
• Ensure all finished work meets quality and dimensional standards through inspection and adjustment.
