Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in machine tool or welding technology or equivalent mix of education and professional experience.
• At least three years of manufacturing supervisory experience.

Responsabilidades

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated supervisor to manage the daily functions of our machine shop and welding departments. This position is vital for maintaining high standards of quality and safety while optimizing workflow and staffing levels. You will lead your team to achieve production targets, ensure equipment reliability, and drive overall operational excellence. You will utilize production schedules to organize daily tasks, coordinating closely with production control to address any necessary adjustments.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily staff activities to ensure high productivity, consistent quality, and full compliance with safety protocols and company standards.
• Supervise the operation of fabrication machinery, including robotic welders, CNC mills, lathes, cranes, saws, and sandblasters.
• Foster a productive environment by mentoring, delegating tasks, and resolving interpersonal conflicts among team members.
• Implement timely corrective actions to address performance issues in alignment with established company guidelines.
• Engage in the full talent lifecycle, including recruiting, conducting performance reviews, and managing disciplinary actions.
• Evaluate production metrics to pinpoint and rectify operational inefficiencies.
• Observe manufacturing processes to reduce equipment downtime and maintain steady output.
• Collaborate with the maintenance department to guarantee all machinery remains in peak operating condition.
• Assess tools and equipment to identify opportunities for upgrades that enhance capability and efficiency.
• Help the team achieve critical production goals while maintaining cost-effectiveness and high quality.
• Provide training and mentorship to help staff members improve their technical skills and overall output.
• Verify and approve daily labor reports to ensure accurate tracking of work orders and hours.
• Keep the Operations Manager informed regarding current work status, potential bottlenecks, and project progress.
• Interpret technical drawings and follow routing instructions while performing necessary mathematical calculations.
• Ensure all work strictly adheres to quality policies, regulatory specifications, and operational instructions.
• Support the integration of lean manufacturing principles, specifically utilizing 5S methodologies.
• Maintain accurate digital and physical records in accordance with production documentation requirements.
• Help maintain a safe and orderly work environment by ensuring equipment is clean and safety procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by management.
• Maintain the physical capability to meet the essential demands of the role.
• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in machine tool or welding technology, or an equivalent mix of education and professional experience.
• Bring at least three years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory capacity.
• Utilize deep knowledge of materials, fabrication processes, and industrial equipment.
• Apply expert understanding of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and GMAW.
• Demonstrate effective leadership to help build a cohesive and high-performing team.
• Use strong analytical skills to solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Navigate a high-speed production setting with ease.
• Proficiently use Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Successfully complete a background check and drug screening.
• Hold a High School Diploma.
• Provide your own steel-toed boots.
• Successfully complete a drug screen and background check.
• Previous relevant experience is considered an advantage.

Compensation and Schedule

This is a full-time, temp-to-hire position located in Decatur, AL 35601. The pay rate is $25-28 per hour. The second shift schedule runs Monday through Friday from 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm, with Saturday shifts from 3:30 pm to 2:00 am. Benefits include weekly pay, health insurance coverage, performance-based incentives, and opportunities for career advancement.
