Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Two (2) year degree in Industrial Engineering/Manufacturing, Welding Technology or related field strongly preferred.
• Three (3) or more years of experience in a welding role (preferred).
• Experience in industrial welding automation and controls with emphasis on robotic arc welding and off-line programming and simulation.
• Certification in welding standards such as ASME BPVE VIII or ASME/AWS-CWI or ASME CWI/E helpful but not required.
• AutoCAD or Mechanical Desktop experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe, clean and organized work area.
• Assist in developing safe welding processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing welding methods and equipment.
• Help maintain reliable and safe welding systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers.
• Develop welding processes to meet product requirements and tests manufacturing methods while developing training and evaluation guidelines for assembly technicians.
• Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair services to keep equipment operational.
• Research and create new welding methods to maximize capacity and efficiency.
• Participate in cross-functional new product design teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Assist with designing and verification of weld fixtures and manual welding.
• Involved with welding robot programming.
