Job summary

The Rogers Group is seeking a Welding Engineering Intern for Summer of 2027 in Clare, MI. The role involves developing welding procedures (WPS), analyzing weld quality, updating technical docs, and optimizing manufacturing processes with hands-on lab work, ensuring compliance with ASME/AWS standards.

The intern will help troubleshoot production issues, support safety and quality, and collaborate with engineers across the shop floor to improve production capacity and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in Industrial Engineering/Manufacturing, Welding Technology or related field strongly preferred.
• Three or more years in welding role (preferred).
• Experience with robotic arc welding and off-line programming is preferred.
• Knowledge of ASME/AWS welding standards is helpful but not required.
• AutoCAD experience is a plus.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting English.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe, clean and organized work area.
• Develop welding procedures (WPS) and QA documentation.
• Assist in improving production rates, efficiencies and yields.
• Support cross-functional teams on new product design for manufacturability.
• Assist with designing and verification of weld fixtures and manual welding.
• Involved with welding robot programming.
• Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
