Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. degree in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering or a B.S. in another engineering discipline with an M.S. in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering.
• Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience.
• Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage complex materials engineering projects and meet schedule requirements.
• Prepare and evaluate material and process instructions, standards, manuals, and specifications.
• Initiate, plan, and perform thorough materials engineering oversight of supplier manufacturing processing and fabrication procedures.
• Conduct material analyses to determine properties and perform failure analyses to identify root causes and improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure integration of activities and mentor less experienced staff.
