Westinghouse Electric Company, headquartered in Cranberry Township, PA, seeks a Welding Engineer 2 to advance welding specifications for nuclear plant fabrication and maintenance. The role requires on-site presence two days per week at Rock Hill, SC or Cranberry Township, PA, with travel as needed.

You will review documentation, develop welding programs, support fabri-c-follow activities, and contribute to design reviews while ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Welding Engineer or related role.
• Familiarity with SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and SAW and NDE techniques VT, PT, MT, UT, RT.

Responsibilities

• Review contract, design, and regulatory requirements to develop project welding specifications.
• Review fabricator and supplier documentation including weld maps, detail drawings, PQRs and WPSs to ensure conformance with project requirements.
• Work with Global Supply Chain and Supplier Performance Engineering to support fab-follow activities.
• Participate in constructability and design reviews.
• Provide input to weld design and Engineering Specifications with other engineering disciplines.
• Revise and maintain specifications related to welding consumables and base materials.
• Support continued development of the WELD software package.
• Aid in the evaluation of weld failures and nonconformances.
• Support issues presented by ANI, Code, and Regulatory bodies, clients, and internal customers.
