Job summary
Westinghouse Electric Company LLC in Rock Hill SC and Cranberry Township PA seeks a Welding Engineer 2 to support welding requirements for nuclear plant fabrication and maintenance. The role is hybrid with 2 days on-site weekly.
The position requires a Bachelor's in Welding Engineering, 3+ years of experience, and familiarity with SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW processes and weld documentation. Domestic/international travel is expected.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or related field is required.
- 3+ years of experience as a Welding Engineer or related position.
- Familiarity with welding procedures, weld maps, and control of welding parameters.
Responsibilities
- Review contract, design, and regulatory requirements to develop project welding specifications.
- Review fabricator and supplier documentation including weld maps, detail drawings, PQRs and WPSs, and Welding Programs to ensure conformance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with Global Supply Chain and Supplier Performance Engineering to support fab-follow activities.
- Participate in constructability and design reviews.
- Provide input to weld design and Engineering Specifications with other disciplines.
