Job summary

The Pivot Group Network in Hart, MI is seeking a Welding Engineer to develop and optimize welding procedures, troubleshoot defects, and drive continuous improvements across manufacturing processes. You will evaluate equipment, train technicians, and collaborate with design teams on weldability of new products.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's in Welding Engineering or related field and 3+ years of experience with GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, and SAW, plus knowledge of AWS/ASME standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of welding process experience in manufacturing (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW).
• Strong understanding of metallurgy and materials science in welding.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Familiarity with welding codes and specifications (AWS, ASME).
• Proven troubleshooting of welding defects and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize welding procedures and parameters for manufacturing processes.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for welding defects.
• Evaluate and select appropriate welding equipment, consumables, and materials.
• Provide technical support and training to welding technicians and manufacturing personnel.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations for welding operations.
• Collaborate with design engineers to optimize weldability of new product designs.
