Welding Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Welding Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing welding processes and techniques to ensure high-quality and efficient production. The Welding Engineer will work closely with the manufacturing team to troubleshoot and optimize robotic welding operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement welding processes for various materials including metal and steel.
2. Program and troubleshoot robotic welding systems, particularly OTC and Fanuc robots.
3. Design and create welding fixtures and tooling using CAD software, including AutoCAD.
4. Conduct metallurgical analysis to ensure proper weld quality and strength.
5. Collaborate with the manufacturing team to optimize production efficiency and quality.
6. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including AWS and ASME.
7. Provide training and support to welders and other team members on best practices and welding techniques.
8. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding processes and reduce defects.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in welding engineering or a similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of welding processes, robotic programming, and troubleshooting.
4. Proficiency in CAD and AutoCAD for designing fixtures and tooling.
5. Certification as a Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is preferred.
6. Familiarity with industry standards such as IATF and ISO 9001.
7. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
