Job summary

Amentum in Livonia, MI is seeking a Welding and Dyna Test Technician with practical automotive exposure to join our engineering test team. You will set up components for welding, weld exhaust parts for testing, and fabricate brackets and fixtures for test rigs.

You will also install transmissions and related components on test stands, operate durability and performance tests, monitor ongoing tests, troubleshoot setup issues, and communicate effectively with requesters to meet testing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Welding skills (TIG) required.
• Knowledge of engine, transmission, axle, and exhaust components.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Set up components for welding per specifications.
• Weld exhaust parts for testing.
• Fabricate brackets, mounts and fixtures for test setups.
• Prepare catalytic converters for testing.
• Install transmissions and related components on test rigs.
• Operate durability and performance test stands; monitor tests.
• Troubleshoot setup/operational issues and communicate requirements.
