Johnson Controls is seeking a Fitter Welder Apprentice at the San Antonio, TX plant to gain hands-on skills in fit up, fabrication and welding. You will work under experienced professionals and contribute to learning essential trade skills in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 6 months of MIG welding experience (GMAW) in metal fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications.
• Follow safety policies and maintain clean, organized work areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform fit up, fabrication and core welding to meet Johnson Controls standards.
• Operate welding equipment and hand tools to construct and assemble metal parts.
• Read blueprints, inspect work, and document production activities.
• Maintain 5S discipline and participate in Kaizen events.
• Assist in training and mentoring other workers as needed.
