Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fitter Welder Apprentice in San Antonio, TX, to gain hands-on experience in fit-up, fabrication, and welding under the guidance of skilled professionals in a manufacturing plant.

You will operate a Miller Aluma Pro MIG gun and plasma cutting tools, read blueprints, and complete tasks safely. A minimum 6 months MIG welding experience and passing 2G plate and 6G pipe tests are required, along with a HS diploma or GED and good teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months MIG welding experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Passed 2G plate welding test and 6G pipe welding test.
• HS diploma or GED.
• Safety-conscious with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Execute fit-up, fabrication, and core welding to vendors and managers.
• Adhere to Johnson Controls principles and plant procedures.
• Maintain safe work practices and log reports.
• Read blueprints and ensure drawings meet intended use.
• Participate in training programs and 5S/Kaizen activities.
