Job summary

Responsibilities

Job description

Position Title: Welder Wage: $22.00 per hour Shift: 1st, 2nd Hours: 5:00am-3:15pm; 3:00pm-1:30am QPS Employment Group has a great Welder position available at a company in Dubuque, IA.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to engage in both manual and robotic welding in a collaborative environment. Candidates can contribute through precise manual welding or by operating and maintaining robotic welding systems, making it a versatile role within the manufacturing team.

Welder Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate robotic welding equipment according to specifications.
• Troubleshoot and repair robotic welding systems, controllers, sensors, and peripheral devices.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on welding robots and tooling.
• Monitor weld quality, making adjustments to optimize performance and consistency.
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
• Develop and refine robotic welding programs to enhance productivity and reduce scrap.
• Maintain accurate production, maintenance, and quality records.
• Follow all safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, efficiency, and quality.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Safely set up parts for welding using hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Position, align, and fit components into fixtures with precision.
• Operate manual welding equipment (e.g., MIG, TIG) to weld various materials and thicknesses.
• Ensure welds meet quality standards through inspection and testing.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform related tasks to support quality and safety standards.

Welder Requirements

• Proficient in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, etc.).
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
• Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot robotic systems and perform manual welding.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• Welding experience or completion of a trade school welding program required.
• Successful completion of an in-house weld test.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and good attendance.
• High school diploma or GED required.
