Job summary

QPS Employment Group has a Robot Operator position available in Saint Charles, MO on the 2nd shift. The role offers $22.61 per hour with a Monday-Friday schedule from 2:30pm to 11:00pm and potential for hire after the temp period.

The ideal candidate will interpret blueprints, use IQMS to manage parts and inventory, load fixtures correctly, and ensure weld quality with minimal rejects. Prior robotic welding experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of fixtures.
• Ability to accurately measure fractions and decimals.
• Experience operating robotic welding machines is preferred (Miller, Fanuc, Lincoln or OTC).

Responsibilities

• Reviews and interprets blueprints for part numbers, weld symbols and dimensions.
• Uses IQMS to identify parts, check inventory and close out orders.
• Selects program on robot and loads components into fixtures.
• Produces quality parts with minimal rejects and rework.
• Loads/ unloads assemblies, inspects welds and repairs defects.
• Keeps fixtures in top condition and reports issues to supervisor.
• Operates all robotic welders and follows safety procedures.

Job description

Position Title: Robot Operator Wage: $22.61 per hour Shift: 2nd Hours: 2:30pm-11:00pm (Mon-Fri) QPS Employment Group has a great Robot Operator position available at a company in Saint Charles, MO. This is a 2nd position with the opportunity for hire.

Robot Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Reviews and accurately interprets blueprints/drawings for part number, weld symbols, tolerance, weld placement, dimensions, etc.
• Utilizes IQMS to correctly identify parts, determines part locations, checks inventory, closes out orders and other daily functions.
• Selects program that is on robot.
• Produces quality parts with few rejects and rework.
• Properly loads correct components into position in the fixture without excessive force.
• Properly unloads finished assemblies, inspects welds, identifies/marks, and repairs unacceptable quality problem areas.
• Uses a grinder to eliminate imperfections.
• Changes torch tips, cleans nozzles and other duties as directed for proper operation.
• Changes wire and monitor gases.
• Cleans/Changes drive wheels when necessary.
• Capable of changing fixtures with assistance of supervisor.
• Stays within approved levels of robot manipulation (i.e., use Teach, Teach Enable, Block Forward, Block Back, and Wire Feed buttons). Always consults supervisor when problems cannot be resolved in above mentioned parameters.
• Keeps all fixtures in top condition. Notates any issues with fixtures with input to correct, repairs and resolves them.
• Completes in-house training and capable of operating all robotic welders.
• Learns and demonstrates the ability to identify quality versus poor welding.
• Communicates inventory of consumable parts.
• Properly set up area for maximum efficiency.
• Serves as support for other Robotic Operators.
• Professionally communicates production issues, seeks clarification and resolution from front line employees and management.
• Performs tasks safely including wearing safety glasses and gloves as described in JHA requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Robot Operator Requirements:

• Knowledge of fixtures.
• Ability to accurately measure fractions and decimals.
• Experience operating robotic welding machines is preferred. (Ideally Miller (hand weld only), Fanuc/Lincoln (robot weld only) or OTC (robot and hand weld) models.)
