Job summary

TrailersPlus, a Division of Interstate Group, is seeking a Welder in Glen Lyn, VA. You will weld, cut, and braze metal parts to build and repair trailer frames using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment. The role requires precision, safety, and the ability to follow complex instructions.

Candidates should read tape measures accurately, operate grinders and oxy-acetylene torches, and prepare parts for welding. You will maintain a clean workspace and may learn other production tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Welding and fabrication experience with flame-cutting and hand welding.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Knowledge of safety rules and PPE.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Welds raw materials to construct/repair trailer frames using cutting, burning, and welding equipment.
• Operates grinders, chop saws, oxy-acetylene torches, and other general tools.
• Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces.
• Maintains, organizes, and cleans tools and workspace.
• Notifies supervisor of faulty equipment or materials.
• Meets high quality and safety standards.
• Learns other production roles to support the team.

Job Summary

The Welder will weld, cut, and braze metal pieces and products by using flame-cutting and hand welding equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• None.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Welds raw materials to construct and/or repair the framework of our trailers using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.
• Handles power tools such as grinders, chop saws, oxygen and acetylene torches, and other general hand tools
• Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
• Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
• Notifies Supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
• Consistently meets high quality and control standards.
• Works safely at all times.
• Learn and become proficient in other production roles in order to support our entire team as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Able to work safely and follow all safety rules
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure
• Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding
• Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat or overhead.
• Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
• Must be able to see details at close range
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Capacity to stand for extended periods
• Must be able to bend at the waist, kneel, and squat, walk, climb up and down ladders/scaffolding, stoop, carry materials.

Work Hours : Monday - Thursday | 7:00am - 5:30pm, Friday | 7:00am - 12:00pm

Pay Rate : $ 18 / hour - $20 / hour
