Job summary

PRATT Industries U.S. is seeking a Welder to join our manufacturing team in Michigan. You will perform welding on trailers using MIG, TIG, and stick processes, reading blueprints and ensuring precise, high-quality welds.

The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards to meet production goals and maintain PRATT’s quality reputation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification or training preferred.
  • Proven welding experience in manufacturing/industrial settings.
  • Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Detail-oriented with strong quality standards.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Weld on structural components and trailers using MIG, TIG, and stick processes.
  • Set up and operate welding machines with proper material adjustments.
  • Inspect welds to ensure quality and safety standards.
  • Follow safety procedures and wear PPE at all times.
  • Keep work area clean and organized; maintain tools.
  • Collaborate to meet production deadlines and quality output.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.
  • Adhere to QC processes to ensure defect-free work.

Job Overview:

PRATT Industries is seeking a Welder to join our skilled manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing welding tasks on metal parts and structures used in the production of our high-quality trailers. The Welder will work with a variety of materials and welding techniques to ensure strong, durable, and precise welds that meet PRATT’s strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform welding on various metal components used in trailer manufacturing, including structural frames, chassis, and other parts.
  • Use MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques to complete welds according to engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Set up and operate welding machines and equipment, ensuring proper adjustments for different materials and weld types.
  • Inspect and test completed welds to ensure they meet PRATT’s quality and safety standards.
  • Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and ensure high-quality output.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
  • Ensure adherence to company quality control processes to produce defect-free work.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification or technical training preferred.
  • Proven experience as a welder, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Familiarity with welding tools and equipment, including safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality, precise welds.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.
