Construction Mechanics Inc. is seeking a skilled Welder for ongoing projects in the Tampa, FL area. This is a solid opportunity for a dependable tradesperson looking to grow with a respected company that values quality workmanship and safety. Projects may include structural steel, fabrication, and industrial welds in both shop and field settings.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in MIG, Stick, and/or Flux-Core welding, with strong fabrication skills and the ability to interpret blueprints and shop drawings. Must be capable of working independently or alongside a team in fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform structural welding and fabrication using MIG, Stick, or Flux-Core techniques
• Read and interpret welding blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications
• Lay out, fit, and tack weld metal components based on engineered drawings
• Use cutting torches, plasma cutters, grinders, and other fabrication tools
• Ensure welds meet code requirements and quality standards (visual and/or X-ray inspections)
• Maintain safe work practices and follow all OSHA and company safety protocols
• Work in shop and/or field environments, potentially at heights or confined spaces
• Assist with material handling, rigging, and equipment setup as needed
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of welding equipment
• Collaborate with supervisors and team leads to meet project deadlines

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of welding experience in structural or industrial settings
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols
• Proven experience with MIG and Stick (Flux-Core a plus)
• Own standard welding gear and PPE (hood, gloves, steel toe boots, etc.)
• Ability to pass weld test (positioned or 3G/4G depending on project)
• Comfortable with heavy lifting, physical labor, and working in various conditions
• Reliable transportation to and from job site
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

Compensation:

• Competitive hourly pay: $25–$34/hr DOE
• Weekly pay through Construction Mechanics Inc.
