Job description

Under the direction of the Branch Manager, the incumbent will perform a dual role as Repair Technician and Driver. As a Repair Technician, the incumbent will be responsible for repairs, refurbishing, and maintaining engine-driven generators, ensuring a safe working environment. As a Driver, the incumbent will be responsible for the safe delivery and pick-up of welding equipment, parts, supplies, and accessories to and from customers using a commercial vehicle.

Essential Functions

  1. Ensure a safe work environment by following Airgas / Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines.
  2. Assemble diesel, gas, and propane equipment for rental; test and calibrate machines for functionality.
  3. Repaint parts, touch up paint, and apply decals to welders to maintain appearance.
  4. Replace defective parts and perform preventative maintenance.
  5. Order parts as needed for repairs.
  6. Inspect returned equipment for proper operation and damage.
  7. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment to stock parts.
  8. Operate company vehicles for delivery of equipment and supplies.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  10. Prepare and complete paperwork for repairs and shipping documentation.
  11. Ensure efficient and safe delivery of customer equipment.
  12. Maintain communication with branch personnel and work closely with the Branch Coordinator/Manager.
  13. Prepare and test welding equipment for delivery.
  14. Perform other related duties as required.

Licenses / Certifications

Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License required.
