Block Iron & Supply Company Inc. is seeking a skilled Welder to join our team in Oshkosh, WI. This full-time role focuses on custom frame fabrication, including cutting, punching, welding, grinding, sanding, and finishing metal frames per work orders and templates.

The position also involves preparing doors for hardware, light kits, and glass installation. You will perform MIG welding on hollow metal frames, assemble components per specifications, and read blueprints and work orders with

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• 1–2 years MIG welding experience preferred.
• Able to read tape measures and blueprints accurately.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds independently (and up to 100 pounds with assistance).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
• Basic construction knowledge related to hollow metal and commercial hardware applications.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

About the Position:

Block Iron is seeking a skilled and motivated Welder to join our team. This position involves custom frame fabrication, including cutting punching, welding, grinding, sanding and finishing metal frames according to work order specifications and templates. The role also includes custom preparation of doors for hardware, light kits and glass installation.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on hollow metal frame material and commercial hardware
• Assemble hollow metal frames and commercial hardware per specifications
• Operate tools and equipment for cutting, grinding, sanding and related fabrication processes
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and project requirements
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders and measurement tools accurately
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety procedures
• Perform various shop and warehouse tasks as needed based on business demands

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred)
• Experience: 1-2 years of MIG welding experience preferred
• Must be able to read tape measures and blueprints accurately
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently (and up to 100 pounds with assistance)
