Block Iron & Supply Company is seeking a skilled Welder to join our team in Madison, WI. The role focuses on custom frame fabrication, door preparation for hardware, light kits and glass installation, with travel to job sites for maintenance.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of MIG welding experience, can read blueprints and measurements, and works with attention to detail to ensure high-quality outcomes. A valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs (100 lbs with assistance) are

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of MIG welding experience preferred.
• Ability to read tape measures and blueprints accurately.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision and strong craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on hollow metal frame material and commercial hardware.
• Assemble hollow metal frames and hardware per specifications.
• Operate cutting, grinding, sanding and related fabrication tools and equipment.
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and project requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders and measurement tools accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety procedures.
• Assist with shop and warehouse tasks as needed by business demands.
• Travel to job sites to perform maintenance work.
• Become a certified backup Non-CDL Driver.
