Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an intermediate TIG Welder at our Greenville, SC facility. You will assemble diverse materials using TIG welding, interpret drawings, and ensure precise measurements with micrometers, calipers and CMMs. This role emphasizes safety, lean manufacturing, and teamwork.

You should have a high school diploma or welding program graduate with 2–5 years of industrial welding experience and be able to work 2nd shift with overtime as needed. A strong test in GTAW welding is expected.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited welding program OR 2-5 years of industrial welding experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and perform shop math.
  • Proficient in TIG (GTAW) welding and able to pass the weld test.
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift and overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, arrange, fit, and assemble materials using TIG welding processes.
  • Assess weld parameter inputs and adjust during welding.
  • Interpret and execute production from drawings and blueprints.
  • Complete paperwork accurately after work orders.
  • Take precise measurements with micrometers, calipers, and CMMs.
  • Collaborate in lean, safety‑focused manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure compliance, safety, quality and productivity.
  • Enter part data and instructions into computer systems.
  • Set up parts using work instructions, fixtures and sheets.
  • Work overtime and occasional weekend shifts.

What You’ll Do:
  • Prepare, arrange, fit, and assemble a variety of materials (stainless, nickel alloy, Hast‑X) and components using tig welding processes and procedures
  • Strong assessment of weld parameter inputs with the ability to make adjustments during welding
  • Interpret and execute production using drawings and blueprints
  • Complete necessary paperwork and computer entries accurately and in a timely manner after completing work orders
  • Perform precision measurements using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and CMMs
  • Collaborate in a team environment focused on lean manufacturing, safety, and productivity
  • Take ownership of compliance, safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Utilize computer programs to enter part data (e.g., serial number), log time, and look up work instructions
  • Utilize work instructions, set‑up sheets, fixtures and method documents to correctly set up parts to be welded
  • Ability to work overtime, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work occasional weekend shifts, with or without reasonable accommodation
What you’ll bring:
  • Education/Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited welding program OR 2‑5 years of industrial welding experience
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to read blueprints, perform shop math, and use precision measurement equipment. Proficient in TIG (GTAW) welding and able to pass the weld test
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work 2nd shift (2 PM – 10:30 PM, M‑F) and overtime when needed
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and wear PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.) with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Pass a background check and drug screen
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available)
