Job summary

GE Vernova in Greenville is hiring for an Assembler I (02B) to assemble and disassemble gas turbine components, interpret drawings, and install mechanical and electrical systems. The role requires 1+ year in manufacturing with tools, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards.

You’ll work on a team focused on quality, continuous improvement, and on-site training for advanced gas turbine technology. Eligible for shift premium and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ year manufacturing/industrial/mechanical/electrical assembly experience with hand/tools.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, schematics, BOMs.
  • Experience installing/measuring/routing mechanical and/or electrical components.
  • Comfort working in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and wear PPE.
  • Must pass job class assessment, background check, and drug screen.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and disassemble gas turbine components per work instructions and drawings.
  • Interpret BOMs, diagrams, schematics, and shop docs to complete work.
  • Position, fit, fasten, torque components, and piping using hand/power tools.
  • Perform basic mechanical/electrical assembly including wiring and conduits.
  • Set up/disassemble test equipment and gas/air/hydro connections as needed.
  • Verify alignment/quality with measuring devices and record data.
  • Operate forklifts and cranes as trained.
  • Identify and correct routine issues to maintain quality and flow.
  • Contribute to team problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Own compliance, safety, quality and productivity in your area.

Job Description
  • What you’ll do

  • Assemble and disassemble gas turbine components and subassemblies following established work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Interpret drawings, bill of materials, diagrams, schematics, and related shop documents to complete assigned work.
  • Position, fit, fasten, and torque components and piping or tubing systems using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and cranes.
  • Perform basic mechanical and electrical assembly tasks, including wiring connections, conduit or tubing work, and installation of related accessories.
  • Set up and disassemble test equipment and required gas, air, or hydro connections as needed.
  • Verify alignment, fit, and assembly quality using standard measuring devices/tools (such as tape measure, calipers, and micrometers) and record required quality data.
  • Operate material‑moving equipment such as forklifts and jib or gantry cranes, as trained.
  • Identify and correct routine machining or setup issues to maintain quality and production flow.
  • Contribute to team problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Take ownership of compliance, safety, quality, and productivity in your area of responsibility.
  • What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, or electrical assembly experience using hand tools, power tools, and standard assembly equipment.
  • Experience following work instructions, drawings, diagrams, schematics, or assembly documentation to complete standardized work.
  • Basic experience installing, fastening, fitting, or routing mechanical and/or electrical components in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Must be capable and comfortable working in confined spaces and working at heights.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and wear required personal protective equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Successful completion of an assessment for the job class, background check, and drug screen.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this role.
