Job summary

Insync Staffing Inc. seeks a Welder II in Lafayette, IN to fabricate and assemble cryogenic industrial gas trailers and sub-assemblies in an active metal shop. The role follows the I-P-W-C-I workflow: Identify, Prepare, Weld, Clean, Inspect.

The Welder II performs precision welding in multiple positions, ensuring compliance with ASME quality standards and engineering callouts while adhering to safety protocols and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of welding and fabrication experience.
• Proficiency with GTAW/TIG, GMAW/MIG and FCAW welding processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and weld symbols.
• Working knowledge of ASME specifications and welding procedures.
• Must pass on-site practical welding test prior to selection.
• Must pass Plug Power's zero-tolerance drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and fit metal components using fabrication tools.
• Set up components and perform manual and semi-automatic welding (GTAW/TIG, GMAW/MIG, FCAW).
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions.
• Follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and project callouts.
• Read blueprints and interpret weld symbols to plan layouts.
• Inspect and verify weld quality and ASME compliance.
• Maintain safety, PPE, and housekeeping per plant procedures.
